Here at Tragicomical, we’ve been following the drama surrounding FX’s new hit show, American Horror Story, straight from the beginning. So where else are you going to get your news on the show? Tonight marks the show’s season finale episode, titled, Afterbirth. Naturally, we’ll be covering the show live – as it airs!

Tonight we come back to the house of evil where Ben, played by Dylan McDermott, feels attached to the house now because he can’t bring himself to leave Vivian, played by Connie Britton, and Violet, Taissa Farmiga there and so much so that he even contemplates killing himself to be with them and sending the new baby son to Vivian’s sister. Will Ben be able to control his urge to kill himself and get out of the house with the baby before the house and it’s dark powers consume him?

Last week we saw Violet banish Tate, played by Evan Peters, from her because she found out that he was responsible for some of the murders in the house not too mention raping her mother and getting her pregnant with the one twin that managed to survive. Will Tate come back with a vengeance because his true love Violet rejects him? In his fit of anger will attempt to kill Ben to get even with Violet?

Will the evil spirits in the house be successful in stealing the Harmon baby? Nora Momtgomery, played by Lily Rabe, is certainly looking to get her hands on that baby before Hayden, played by Kate Mara and also Ben’s dead mistress, beats her to the punch? Somewhere in this episode it has been leaked that there will be more details on what  Thaddeus the Infantata, Nora and Charles Montgomery’s deformed Frankenstein pieced together son, really is. Spirit or something in between?

Let’s not forget that Constance, played by Jessica Lange, is also gunning for the baby. Will she be able to convince Ben that the house is going to inflict harm on him and the baby so he must get out now? Will Constance try to snag the baby and let Ben parish if he doesn’t listen to her?

RECAP:

9 months ago before they moved to the evil house in Los Angeles. Vivian is trying to pack her things and leave because she doesn’t feel like things are going to be ok between them. He pleads with her to try and work things out. He is showing her the pictures of the house and what a great price it is. She keeps telling him NO.  He continues to try and convince her. He wants her to try and that this house will break down the wall between them. He just knows it. He tells her he loves her. He wants her to at least go and see the house before she decides to leave.

Real time: Ben is searching the evil house for Vivian and Violet. he knows they are dead but he knows he can see them in the house. He runs through the house screaming for them.

Ben goes to Constance house to get his son. Constance has been looking after the boy. Ben tells Constance that Vivian’s sister is there to help him with the baby. Constance he is trying to stall Ben. She starts to tell him about what to do with that baby. Ben gets upset. Constance tells him that forces in the house are there to do harm to this baby. She tells him that he can’t take the baby back there. Ben won’t listen to her. She calls him a fool for being so blind. Flashback: Ben realizes that Tate is her son. Ben is ticked and he tells Constance to lock her door and pray he doesn’t come back.

Vivian and Moira are talking in the kitchen. Ben walks in and Vivian ducks behind the counter. She forgets that he can’t see her unless she wants him to. Ben is attempting to feed the baby. Vivian doesn’t want Ben to see her or Violet because he needs to leave the house and take the baby. Vivian wants so bad to hold the baby but she knows she can’t. Vivian and Moira go back to talking once Ben leaves the kitchen. Moira tells Vivian to leave him be and not torture herself over what has happened.

Ben is sitting with the baby and the baby is crying. Ben tells the baby that Aunt Jo will ber there soon. Ben lays the baby back down and starts to get together all the house paperwork and keys and leaves the alarm code written on a sticky note.  Ben starts drinking and loads his gun. He is ready to shoot himself. He can’t take their loss. He goes to pull the triger when Vivian takes the gun away from him. Ben is surprised and glad to see her. He wants to die so he can be with her and Violet. Vivian tells him that she forgives him but she wants him to take that baby and get out of this house before it’s too late. If he wants to do something for her t make up for the past he can raise their son. He tells her that her sister Jo will take the baby and Vivian tells him no that’s not what she wants.

Violet shows herself too. Ben apologies to Violet for the father that he has been to her. Violet tells him it’s ok but he needs to get out of the house and take the baby. Vivian begs him to do this for them. And then they disappear. Ben is alone.

Ben goes and gets the baby and goes to leave when he is confronted with Hayden and she won’t let him leave. Another ghost comes from behind and ties a rope around Ben’s neck and hooks it to the Chandelier and throws him over the stair railing and hangs him. Ben is DEAD.

The door bell rings and the realtor Marcy answers the door to a couple, Stacy and Miguel Ramone and their son Gabriel to come look at the house. She gives the grand tour with their teenage son. She tells them all the information on the house. Oh and by the way Marcy adopted the Harmon’s dog. She lets them know that the last owners died in the house. She explains that it was a tragic love story and the Harmons died due to love. She continues the tour. The teenage boy starts riding his skateboard in the house. He is tripped and knocked off his board. By the redheaded twins but he can’t see them. The twins start to mess with him and push the board around. The father comes in and tells him that they might have bought a house. Violet is watching them from the steps. 

They buy the house and begin to move in.

Constance gets a visit from the detectives that are still looking into her boyfriend Travis’ murder. They are there now looking for the baby that no one can seem to find. Constance of course is the one who found Ben dead hanging from the second floor. She looked for the baby but he was nowhere to be found. She went searching for Violet and could not find her is what she tells the detectives. She tells them she thinks that Violet might have fled with the baby.

Constance finds out that Hayden has the baby and she gets the baby from her with Travis’ help. She takes the baby home and hides him in the closet.

Violet shows herself to Gabriel. He asks her who she is. She introduces herself and tells him that she leaves in the neighborhood. Tate sees her flirting with the new teen. He is not happy.

Miguel and Stacy are unpacking in the kitchen and talking about getting it on. They start to take each others clothes off in the kitchen, They start to have sex on the counter. Ben and Vivian are watching them. They stop in the middle of it because they think they hear Gabriel. Vivian and Ben talk about this couple and they want to warn them about the house. Moira walks in and tells them they will need help if they are going to get this couple and their son out alive.

The Ramone’s are asleep in bed when Miguel wakes up and gets out of bed. He is in a trance. Stacy is still in bed and the rubber man tries to get on top of her.

Tate visits Gabriel to tell him to stay away from Violet. Tate is mad and he threatens him. He tells him he must kill him so Violet has someone with her now since he can’t be with her.

Gabriel hears his mother scream. He tries to run. Stacy Ramone is fighting off the rubber man and she gets out of the bedroom. Tate won’t let Gab leave the room to get to his mother.

Miguel is at the stove in the kitchen when Moira and Vivian come to him and wake him out of the trance and are taking him back to his wife.

Tate is trying to kill Gabriel and he can’t seem to do it while looking at him. Gabriel begs him to not kill him. Tate makes Gab stand up and turn around.

Moira is leading Miguel through the horror house while Stacy is being chased by the ghosts in the house and into the basement. Finally Miguel snaps out of it and runs to Stacy to help her. Ben is rubber man and Vivian yells at him and takes out his stomach so Ben shoots Vivian. They both get up and tell the Ramone’s to RUN! They run out of the house. The scare tactic worked!

Violet walks into the bedroom with Gabriel and Tate and she tells him to no kill Gabriel. She tells him she wants him not Gabriel. She tricks Tate into leaving Gabriel alone. She kisses him while Gabriel runs from the house. Once he is out of the room she tells Tate good-bye. Tate is left crying in the room alone.

The Ramones run like hell that night out of the house. The Harmon’s watch them take off in their car and are happy that it worked to scare them to get them out of the house.

The house is back up for sale. Marcy is mad at the murder bus tour and tells them to leave because she is trying to sell the house.

Tate goes to Ben and tries to talk to him. Ben is not interested in talking to Tate and he tells him he will never be well. And by the way therapy doesn’t work is what Ben tells him. Ben admits that he has done wrong to his loved ones. Ben tells him that there will be no mercy for him because he took away the right of forgiveness of his victims. Ben wants to know what Tate wants from him. Tate says he just wants to tell him he is sorry. Ben just doesn’t buy it. Tate tells Ben of all his sins. Ben tells him he is not a priest and he can’t have him forgiven. Tate asks Ben to hang out with him sometimes. Ben wants no part of Tate.

Vivian is playing the cello when she hears a baby crying and she finds Nora caring for her dead twin in the basement. Nora tells Vivian the baby is a weakling and won’t stop crying. Nora tells her that this baby is hers but this baby is not what she wanted. Vivian tells Nora she knows some tricks to calm the baby. Nora lets Vivian hold the baby. She rocks and sings to the baby and he stops crying. Nora is relieved that the baby is quiet now. Nora needs a rest so she asks Vivian to take the baby. Vivian is happy to take her baby back. Even if he is dead.

She brings the baby up from the basement into the kitchen and Moira is cleaning. She shows the baby to Moira. Vivian asks Moira if she wants to hold him. Moira holds the baby. She loves this little guy. Vivian asks her to be his godmother. She accepts it.

It’s Christmas time and Violet is decorating a tree with Moira. Ben comes and lights the tree when Vivian comes in with the baby. Ben’s baby. Ben holds his baby and he is actually happy because they are all together. Hayden and Tate are outside watching. Hayden is trying to provoke Tate with Violet not wanting him. He tells her he will wait for Violet to come around.

Three years later: Constance walks into a salon to get her hair done. She is telling her beautician about the baby and how the baby was a family kid that a distant cousin didn’t want the child so she took him. Constance looks fantastic once her hair is done. She tells the lady that she has been being prepared to care for this child all along. She is ready to take him on and guide him.

Constance gets home and finds blood in the kitchen and all in the hallway floor. The boy killed his babysitter and he is rocking in his rocking chair. Constance comes to him and he laughs at her. She wonders what she is going to do with him now.
