There is a new series on FOX called I Hate My Teenage Daughter and the show is making its debut tonight — right after The X Factor USA.

I HATE MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER is a new multi-camera family comedy starring Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran as single moms, best friends – and former nerds – who fear their privileged and overly indulged daughters are turning out just like the mean girls who picked on them in high school.
ANNIE (Pressly), who was raised in an ultra-strict, über-religious household where she had little-to-no freedom, pretty much allows her daughter, SOPHIE (Kristi Lauren), to do whatever she wants. Annie’s best friend NIKKI (Finneran), once an unpopular, overweight social pariah, is now a pretty Southern belle who also allows her daughter, MACKENZIE (Aisha Dee), to do as she pleases.

Jaime Pressly said of the role, “In order for me to come back to TV – being that Earl is still on [in reruns] and that Joy was such a strong character – I have to be able to play something that was completely opposite of her. And this character is definitely that.”

Tonight’s premiere begins with Annie and Nikki at talking about how they hate their daughters as their daughters show up at Annie’s place of emplyment, a diner.
Annie and her daughter Sophie are arguing about the clothes she wears. She makes her change her clothes. Gary and Nikki are getting a divorce and their daughter, Mackenzie who looks like a tramp walk into Annie’s kitchen fighting! Annie and Nikki and Gary are talking about their school memories and how they dressed and how different it was for them growing up.
That mornig in the car Annie and Nikki are talking about Sophie and Mackenzie and their first highschool dance. They are more excited about it than the girls. They go to drop off the girls for school and find out that the principle wants to talk to them. They go into the meeting with the principle to talk about their daughters when they are totaly intimidated by the principle. Their daughters are in trouble for harrassing a boy in a wheel chair and locking him the school bathroom.
At Annie’s work her ex-husband, Matt shows up to say that his band is going to tour with Cheryl Crowe. And he can’t take Sophie this weekend so Annie needs to keep her. Jack shows up and tells Annie he is not surprised that the girls pulled is not surprising. Annie and Nikki
Annie and Nikki are passing punishment on Mackenzie and Sophie by telling them they can’t go to the dance. Mackenzie is being rude to her mother about eating so Nikki and Mackenzie leave upset. Annie and Sophie continue to argue. At home Mackenzie and Nikki are still fighting too!
The ex-husbands show up at Annie’s house because the daughters are texting them that the mom’s are being mean and unrational. The dad’s decide to give it a try with the girls. Jack shows up with a pie for Nikki to consol her since she texted him like 100 times. He also wanted to apologize for what he said to Annie. Annie likes Jack! Nikki makes fun of Annie for liking Jack. The dad’s handled the situation by giving the girls money to not yell at them any more. Just great!
Later Annie and Sophie are talking and Annie explains to Sophie why she is punishing her. And Sophie tells Annie the truth about why they locked the disabled kid up in the bathroom. The boy is racist and mean to Mackenzie. Sophie apologies for her mean statements to her mom. Annie accepts.
Annie and Nikki are talking that eveing and Annie finds out that Nikki let Mackenzie go to the dance. Annie is mad because she underminded their intent of the punishment. Nikki tried to justify it by her terrible school experiences. Nikki admits that she spoils Mackenzie. Annie decides to let Sophie go to the dance too!!
At the dance the girls are having a last until their mothers show up of course. The principle is there too and she is making fun of Nikki about her eating habits. So Annie puts the principle in her place and tells her to back off! Annie tells Nikki why the girls locked the kids in the bathroom!! Nikki laughs and point out that the boy they are talking about happens to be black!
