Tonight’s episode 2, “The Thing You Love Most” is all about what the evil queen had to sacrifice in order to get her evil plan in motion. Regina attempts to rid Storybrooke of Emma and keep her out of Henry’s life. If you want to know what’s in store for the people of Storybrooke you need come back tonight for the review.
This evenings episode begins with Henry, played by Jared Gilmore, watching the town clock tower from his window. He is satisfied knowing that Emma is here and is going to save everyone in Storybrooke.
Regina, played by Lana Parrilla, reads thru Henry’s fairytale book and realizes that there are pages missing from the book. She confronts Henry about the missing pages and claims she is very upset that he thinks she is evil and does not care for him.
The clock tower chimes and Henry rushes out to see the clock work. Regina is not happy at all about the tower working. She decides to go to Emma, played by Jennifer Morrison.
Regina pays a visit to Emma with a basket of apples. Emma tells Regina that she is planning on sticking around for a while. Regina is not happy with this and she once again threatens Emma if she doesn’t depart Storybrooke.
Back in Fairytale world, in a time before the royal wedding, the Evil Queen is speaking with her mirror. She claims that she will ruin everyone’s happiness by the dark curse. She is going to the forbidden fortress to get what she wants. Maleficent is the the owner of said fortress. The Evil Queen fights Maleficent and keeps her imprisoned in order to get her to cooperate with her to cast the dark curse.
The Evil Queen has called a meeting with all the evil characters in Fairytale land. She needs all their help in order to cast the dark curse. She requests a lock of hair from all the most evil at heart. They all fork over their locks in fear that the Evil Queen will take what she wan’ts anyways. She cast the dark curse spell as a pact with her soul to get what she wants.
Regina in storybrooke is looking for information on Emma in order to go after her. She hires an investigator to get the info. So far nothing has come up about her.
Emma is at the local diner having coffee and runs into the Sheriff, played by Jamie Dornan. Henry is at the diner as well and he buys her the coffee. He wants Emma to walk him to school so he can brief her on his plan. Henry tells her the reason the clock is working because she has arrived to save everyone from the curse. He admits to Emma that he did tear out the last pages of the fairytale book to keep Regina from knowing who Emma is. He tells her that Regina cannot for any reason find out about who Emma really is or it could be bad.
Emma runs into the teacher, Mary Margaret, played by Ginnifer Goodwin, and talks her about Henry. Mary tells her about how to get in contact with Henry’s doctor.
Archie Hopper is the doctor and she asks him about why Henry uses the book to cope with his stress. He explains that Regina is trying to get Henry closer to her but it is backfiring. The doc gives her the case file. The doc calls Regina after Emma leaves and tells her that he gave Emma the file. He asks how Regina new that Emma would take the file. Regina simply says, “I gave her the idea”
Emma goes back to her room to study the case file. The sheriff came to Emma’s room and states that Mr. Hopper has filed a complaint that she has stolen the file. The sherff arrests her for having the files in her room.
Regina goes to the school and tells Henry about Emma being arrested. Henry knows that Regina is behind it.
Emma is being booked at the police station and tells the Sheriff that she is being set up. While they are talking Mary and Henry come running into the station when Mary annouces she is bailing Emma out.
Emma goes to Regina’s place and cuts limbs off of her apple tree. And tells her if she tries to frame her again she will cut the whole tree down.
In Fairytale World the Evil Queen is confiding in her father about why the curse didn’t work orginally. The Queen visits Rumplrstiltskin, to find that her curse can be broken by Snow White’s and Prince Charming’s child. She makes a deal with Rumplestiltskin, to make her curse work. He wants her to give him anything he ever wants as long as he says “please”. He also tells her she needs to sacrifice something near and dear to her. She needs to give him what she loves most in order to get the curse to work.
Emma gets back to her room at the bed and breakfast and finds out she is being thrown out because they can’t house a felon.
Regina wants the Sheriff to arrest Emma again for cutting the apple tree. The sheriff tries to reason with Regina and tell her the only one that will get hurt is Henry.
Regina decides that the Sheriff is right. She calls Emma and tells her to come to her office for a truce. Emma goes to Regina’s office and meets with her and talks to her about Henry’s problem. Regina set her up so that Henry would overhear they talking about him and Emma states the his obsession with the book is crazy. Henry runs out upset that Emma thinks he is crazy.
The Evil Queen comes back to her castle with the news from Rumplestiltskin. She tells her father that she must take his heart in order to enact the curse. Her father tries to reason with her that she needs to let this go and not enact the curse. She feels she must punish Snow White for what she has done to her. Her father tells her she can find happiness again but she must let the curse go. She reaches in her father’s chest and takes his heart. He collapses on the floor dead.
Emma goes to visit Mary and pay her back for the bail money. Mary invites Emma in to talk. Emma asks why Mary bailed her out and said that she trusted her. Mary feels like she knows Mary for some reason. Emma tells Mary she is going to leave because she feels she is only hurting Henry. Mary talks her into staying.
Henry is with his doctor Mr Hopper, and Emma walks in on their session. Emma wants Henry to know that she believes him and she wants to work with him. She explains that she had to make Regina believe that she doesn’t believe this story. It’s all part of their “operation cobra”! Henry is so happy that Emma is staying and going to help him break the curse.
In Fairytale world, in the past of course, The Evil Queen enacts the “Dark Curse” for real this time. She succeeds!
Mr. Gold shows up with Regina in her apple orchard. He came to advise Regina that Emma has not left and will be a problem for her and Henry. Mr. Gold tells her he will help her for a price. We find out that he is one procured Henry for her. Now Regina wants to know where Mr. Gold got Henry from. He won’t tell her. He leaves her alone in the orchard.
