Dancing With The Stars double elimination

Dancing With The Stars double eliminationLast night’s episode of “Dancing With The Stars” left me a bit disappointed.

If you have not seen it yet, please stop reading now, there are spoilers ahead.

**********************************

I wasn’t surprised at who got voted to stay on the show, what surprised me more was who they voted off first.

Holy crap, Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas weren’t that bad.  They eclipsed skater boy and his partner by a mile, yet they were still ousted without the benefit of a dance off.

Michael Irvin impressed me some, with his dance, but I surely thought Louie Vito was a goner, instantaneously, after dropping Chelsie on her butt on Monday night’s show.

I’m not surprised that Louie didn’t survive the dance off, but it just goes to show you, that no one was really safe last night.

I’m predicting Mya or Donny Osmond for the win.  What do you think?  Aaron Carter will hopefully cry his way off of the show next week.

  1. Totally agree with you, Roberta. I could have told them snowboard boy was a goner. Michael Irvin is only surviving because of his fan base…but his dance-off was pretty good. Melissa Joan Hart should have been allowed a dance-off. Stupid rules. I predict Mya and Donny in the finals, with maybe swimsuit girl (sorry, I can never remember her name) in third. She keeps improving.

  2. Joanna Krupa? I think she’ll go far, too. But I think they’re removing all of the hot guys one by one…..lol

  3. Melissa Joan Hart wasn’t that good. And she lacked the personality, charm and charisma that kept Louie and Michael in the dance-off. In fact, I’d have seriously considered Kelly Osbourne for the bottom 3 too – it’s really only a matter of time. Yes, she looks like she’s having fun. Yes, she’s shattered our past images of her. But can she dance with conviction, on beat and with flow? No. Joanna does not appear to be a fan favourite. In spite of good scores from the judges – she seems to rank low with the public. Mya is without a doubt the most talented dancer there this season. Donny Osmond (have I mentioned how much I love him?) is an entertainer extraordinaire – but I do not think he will win. And Aaron, if he connects with his confidence, should not be written off. I think last night’s episode went down fair and square. And Taylor Swift, forgive me – but blech …

  4. Thanks for the recap…I find the elimination show to be way longer than it needs to be. Do we really need a musical performance thrown in? Ugh! I have no patience for it.

  5. TWO musical performances were thrown in – and a dance off between two of the bottom three couples. So You Think You Can Dance Canada is brilliant with their vote off show – it’s 30 minutes long, the dancers with the lowest votes are revealed (usually 3 females and 3 males until the very end – then it’s 2 and 2) – we go to commercial … upon return – each of the 6 do a 30 second ‘dance for their lives’ – go to commercial … the bottom two are selected by the judges and sent home. Done. Perfect …

  6. What I REALLY hate is when they have big-name commercial artists perform, and you want to focus on their performance (Like when Queen Latifah was on…I love her) and then they throw all these dancers onto the floor, which takes away the focus. Yes, I love dancing…but let the performer have his or her due, and dance later!

  7. The performers seem to like the dancers complementing their artistry though. To a person, their faces at the end of their performances are always the visual depiction of delight. Having said that – I tend to ignore the dancers during good singing performances (like Queen Latifah) and for performances that are hard to listen to … I usually switch to Larry King Live or something until they’re done. (Or, if I’ve thought to record the show – I fast forward through it – like I did this week. Twice.)

  8. Love recording the show. I zip by the filler and just watch the dances (if I’m rushed) or the rehearsal and the dance (if I have more time.)

  9. I mute the filler :) Like Taylor Swift, thank God my ears didn’t have to suffer through that….lol

  10. I was trying to think if that was the first time I’d heard her sing live. Maybe she just had an off night?

  11. I hoped for Aaron Carter to cry off the show about 3 shows ago…The whole point of this week for us to watch the results was to see him leave…Will never forget the gay lady short robe he recently danced in & this week Karina’s yellow number for a group mumbo that looked like pubic hair overgrown its territory. And that black crow cap for the dance off they never had to dance…Taylor Swift sounds much better on my radio, then on TV, although I admire this girl. However, I must say she’s probably already capable to afford a stylist who can take care of the alterations…That corset on TV was too empty. Although nice legs! endless…( bitch). Back to mumbo: that awful dropping by the neck move Derek performed on Joanna for 1/2 the mumbo time – looked SOOO not sexy & attractive…Will all the hair covering her face…I wished he either dropped her. period. or lift her up by this hair…Well, fingers crossed for the next week Aaron leaves.

  12. Oh Yanka – you made me laugh there. Yes, I HATED the whole dropping by the neck thing. Seriously, what were the judges thinking there – leaving them in to the end and then announcing them the winners? I have to disagree with you on the next celebrity that’s got to go. For me, it’s Kelly Osbourne …

  13. Oh, at least she’s cute & sweet. I voted for her. By the way, Len’s menopause is kicking in seriously: he gave Mya ( sorry if i misspell, i vote for her, she’s great! Deserves to win!) 7?!!! Really, was he in the same room with the others? Maks thinks it’s his boyish way: you know he likes a girl if he pushes her or grabs her hair, so…that’s Len’s hidden affection for her. Well, they have a medical term for it in geriatric clinic. I also votd for MArk. I envy his job:))) The best there is:)) Although he’s still more a warrior then a dancer, but he does it with a warm smile.
