When he was younger, Hugh Jackman was glad that women assumed he was gay so that he could “act like a vulture” and pick up girls.
After starring as gay performer Peter Allen in the Broadway production of The Boy From Oz, he was surrounded by rumors that he was also gay.
It didn’t help that he was hanging out in gay clubs, either. Think he dipped his wand into a little gay magic?
He says no. He said that he went to the clubs where the population was 80 percent gay men along with 18 percent straight women and him and his friend. After the girls would get drunk, the two of them would prey on the women, who no longer wished to be in the company of gay men.
Of those situations, he says, “We would go there until two in the morning, when the girls were really drunk and wishing they weren’t with 80 per cent gay guys. (I was) The worst! The leech! The vulture!”
Suuuuuuure. Methinks doth protest too much?
